OUR RESUME'

Contemporarynotion is a Singapore based business that sells only Australian branded clothing and accessories. Set up in 2007 by 3 girls (Jinghe, Mabel, Yaling), the idea struck us when Mabel was studying in Adelaide (a city in South Australia) and we decided to bring the unearthed sense of Australian fashion to Singapore. Australia enjoys the four seasons but what many Singaporeans do not know is that Aussies dress thinly even during cool periods. This means you can find clothing suitable for our hot climate even during winter or autumn months. Their unique sense of dressing up (and down) with chunky accessories and mis-matching of clothes help expand their wardrobe and makes looking trendy effortless. Bearing the notion of simple chic in mind, our clothing and accessories line guarantees quality, value-for-money and individuality in every single piece.

A relatively expensive and upmarket label, this once has-been label in Singapore can only be found in Australia now. For those who fondly remembers this brand (my mum included), Sportsgirl stocks up all sorts of clothing from casual, party to office wear. Due to the high quality and stylish designs of the clothings, prices are often sky-rocket high and comparable to brands such as Massimo Dutti. Popular items include earrings and hair accessories.

As the name suggests, you can expect comfortable and trust-worthy cotton clothing for this brand. Cotton On has a widely accepted appeal like Giordano in Singapore as everybody owns a piece of it. Its value-for-money cotton clothing, faux fur shoes and bags reach out to people of all ages. There are even Cotton On Kids, much like the Fox brand. Popular items: Every single thing in the shop gets snapped up easily, especially their monthly-released environmental friendly bags and basic tees/polo tees for both guys and girls.

Our favourite brand, Just Jeans offers quality and chic street clothing. How can you not love their denim appeal? Clothings and accessories are usually found in simple, clean-cut and figure-flattering designs but do not sacrifice comfort for style. Non-fussy details such as stripes, embellishments and ribbons are the trademarks of Just Jeans and they help enliven an otherwise bland jacket or shirt. Their in-house brands of jeans are to-die-for, except that our Asian legs are often too short to fill it up. Must-have items: Everything including their lovely shoes.

Another denim-concept store like Just Jeans, colours and quality of clothings are much toned down in comparison, thus explaining the much more affordable price. However their quirky and unique designs which screams attention are often a hit with teenagers and people looking for attitude. Best-selling stuff: Loud-printed tees and jeans.

If you love prints, slogans and punkish styles, JayJays should be the brand of your choice. A favourite place for students with not-so-deep pockets, cheeky and fun-loving prints is the main theme of their clothing line.

Office ladies and middle-aged women flock to this store for their power suits and preppy officewear such as blouses, pants and dresses. Since it doesn't sound too much like our target customers (you), we are only selling a few pieces of accessories which would definitely jazz up your entire outfit.

-- VALLEYGIRL / TEMT --


Super cheap deals are the way to go at valleygirl/temt. If you love feminine, whimsical and girlie fashion, this is the store for you. Laces and soft, thin materials are the rage here. Perfect hangout for girls who do not want to blow their budget.

-- BOLLE --

Spectacle lovers would know that this brand only exists in optical shops in Singapore. However, it actually offers a range of products in Australia such as clothes and bags (think Oakley). Therefore, grab the chance to possess the one and only Bolle T-shirt and you can bet your life nobody else would be seen wearing the same thing as you. Desired items: Spectacles of course. But why miss out the opportunity to get this brand's clothing that can't be found in our country?


Do your bit for our environment and purchase the cute enviro-friendly bags! Such bags are highly promoted by the government and being sold across supermarkets for only a dollar, but why settle for anything ordinary?
